For those with a copper or nickle allergy, these other metals are hypoallergic and won't irate the skin. Plastic designer frames are made from multiple layers of plastic or optyle, adding duriablity. This also allows different materials and details to be added to the frame such as lace, feathers, metal and other details built into the plastic layers. Multiple layers prevents from discoloring or staining of the plastic as well.
