Elizabeth Mihevc, OD

Dr. Mihevc was born and raised in McHenry, Illinois and currently resides in Lake in the Hills. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and in 1992 she received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.

While at optometry school Dr. Mihevc completed clinical training at Olympia Fields Osteopathic Hospital, The Chicago Lighthouse, and the Illinois Eye Institute in units specializing in primary care, pediatrics, and contact lenses. She practiced comprehensive family eye care optometry in Algonquin for nearly 30 years before joining Lifetime Vision. She is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Professionally, Dr. Mihevc enjoys getting to know patients of all ages and strives to provide thorough eye care and recommend the most modern testing, treatments, and contact lens options and glasses technologies. She can relate to her patient’s visual needs as she has been wearing glasses and contact lenses since age 8. Receiving her first pair of glasses is still a vivid memory and shaped her future career choice. Personally, she is active in her church community and enjoys spending time with her three adult children and their spouses, as well as cooking, hiking, cross-country skiing, and bird-watching.
